Cardiovascular centre is first of its kind on Harley Street
NEWS - 9TH DECEMBER 2019
United Medical Enterprises Group (UME) announce plans for a brand-new facility within the world-famous Harley Street Medical Area
Situated at 17 Harley street, the specialist centre will provide agile and patient-centred care using sophisticated technology for the treatment and management of cardiovascular conditions – offering a wealth of expertise across cardiology, hypertension and respiratory medicine.
The standalone facility – aimed at international and self-pay patients – will come equipped with advanced diagnostics technology and imaging equipment, including a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla Philips Elition X MRI; a GE revolution CT scanner capable of capturing the whole heart in a single beat; alongside echocardiography and other innovative technologies.
Continuing the historic legacy at 17 Harley Street – a property which dates back to the 1750s – the centre is set to be one of the only two private facilities in the UK to house the pioneering Autonomic Function Testing laboratory – allowing a non-invasive means of testing to indicate if the autonomic nervous system is functioning as it should in the regulation of cardiovascular control. This enables better understanding of complex circulatory disorders, which informs the treatment and provides enormous benefits to clinicians and their patients.
The Grade II listed building –– noted for its stylistic work and architecture (and once used to house the Spanish Embassy for a short period in the 19th century) – is also set to become the site of the first independent standalone cardiovascular centre in the iconic Harley Street Medical Area, London.
Nick Bird, CEO of UME Group UK, commented: “We are delighted to be expanding our business within the HSMA – the facility at 17 Harley street is the perfect location for our patients and consultants and will appeal to a wide market.
“The facility is designed to provide an agile one-stop shop for cardiovascular care, covered by a wide range of subspecialists working together in the best interests of our patients. It will also have a paperless front reception area, embracing new technologies for patient communication, emphasising our plans to provide an enhanced level of patient experience alongside exceptional care.”
The new centre will link with UME’s Middle East facilities in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Dubai allowing international patients a wide range of access points and support. The company has been managing hospitals and healthcare projects in the Middle East since 1973.
Next year, they will be among the 17 world-leading clinics and hospital groups joining the Harley Medical Street Area (HMSA) stand at Arab Health (27 January – 30 January 2020) – showcasing the best of London’s medical excellence and state-of-the-art facilities. Alongside 4000+ companies taking part in exhibitions across four days at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UME will be showcasing their portfolio of ground-breaking diagnostic and healthcare facilities.
Their new cardiovascular centre, with links internationally, will be located in the renowned Harley Street Medical Area, an area famed for its medical excellence in treating complex and life-threatening conditions. The area, managed by long-term landlord The Howard de Walden Estate, brings together a community of world-renowned medical professionals.
The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress is the largest healthcare event in the Middle East. The event takes place 27 January – 30 January 2020 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai, UAE.
