Innovations in Early Intervention in Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and Mental Health Conditions

EVENT - 30TH MAY 2017

Join ReCognition Health to learn more about the latest early intervention programme for young children with autism, the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and innovations in ADHD and mental health.

The conference will feature speakers presenting on a range of topics, including: a discussion of ESDM from a biomedical and practical perspective, as well as an exploration of the latest advances with diagnosis, medication, and treatments for ADHD/ADD.

The Early Start Denver Model is a comprehensive behavioural early intervention programme for young children with autism, in which language, learning and communication are promoted. The approach is developmental, naturalistic and relationship based. Children’s initiative and engagement are fostered by a framework for communication and interaction. ESDM is not tied to a specific delivery setting, but can be delivered by therapy teams and/or parents in group programs or individual therapy sessions in either a clinic setting or the child’s home.

The ESDM programme is widely applied on a global basis, with a strong presence in the USA, Australia, Europe, and many more locations. There are several controlled and longitudinal studies which have demonstrated that the ESDM programme, compared to other intervention programmes, show the children to have significantly improved cognitive and language ability, adaptive behaviour and reduced autism symptoms.

Re:Cognition Health will be the first provisory for ESDM in the UK, trained by the UC Davis Mind Institute ESDM training program, an internationally recognised training program.
